This website is more than a collection of pages — it’s where my journey with vision loss truly comes to life. My experience with dry age-related macular degeneration spans more than 30 years, filled with both challenges and victories.
Balancing personal, social, and professional life while adapting to vision changes taught me countless lessons. Problem-solving became part of daily living — from learning assistive technology and developing new routines to finding creative ways to use everyday items. Along the way, I discovered strategies that kept me active, independent, and connected to the world around me.
Sharing those experiences grew into a passion. Helping others facing similar challenges makes every struggle worthwhile. Adapting to Vision Loss is built from that purpose — a space filled with stories, tips, and resources that have truly made a difference for me, and hopefully will for you too.
Most of all, I want this to feel like a community gathering place — where real stories are shared, advice flows freely, and everyone feels welcome. Staying connected with others who understand what you’re going through can be one of the strongest tools we have.
Let’s keep learning and navigating this journey together.
