Adapting to vision loss isn’t just about learning new skills—it’s about finding ways to keep living your life with confidence, independence, and a sense of normalcy.

This site is where I share what that has looked like for me.

I’ve been living with dry age-related macular degeneration for more than 30 years. Over time, I’ve learned that the biggest challenges aren’t always the obvious ones—they’re the small, everyday moments that suddenly feel harder than they used to.

Balancing personal, social, and professional life while adapting to vision changes taught me countless lessons. Problem-solving became part of daily living—not just at home, but in how I moved through the world, stayed connected, and continued doing the things that mattered to me.

From learning assistive technology and developing new routines to finding reliable resources, navigating transportation, and discovering creative ways to use everyday items, each step helped me build a life that still felt active, independent, and meaningful.

Over time, I realized that adapting to vision loss isn’t about one area of life—it touches everything from the smallest daily tasks to how we navigate the world around us.

Vision loss isn’t the end of seeing. It’s the beginning of seeing differently.

If you’re new here, I’ve put together a simple “Start Here” page that walks through some of the things that have helped me the most—especially when everyday tasks start to feel harder than they used to.

A Personal Note

More than anything, I want this to feel like a place where you’re not figuring everything out on your own.

There’s no one “right” way to adapt. What works for one person may not work for another—and that’s okay. The goal isn’t perfection. It’s finding what works for you and building from there.

If something here makes your day a little easier, helps you feel more confident, or gives you a new idea to try, then it’s doing exactly what I hoped it would.

Let’s keep learning and navigating this together.
